Community Action Program Update: The El Mirage and Surprise CAP Office anticipates the additional funds received for the COVID-19 pandemic will be expended by Dec. 4 or sooner. To accommodate this, CAP will begin adjusting its services at the El Mirage Senior Center this week.
Walk-ins will no longer be accepted as of Nov. 16. All prospective applicants will need to apply through the online portal CAP Online Portal or the Hopeline at 623.222.4673.
CAP Staff will continue to be at the El Mirage Senior Center from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Mondays, Tuesday, and Wednesdays until Nov. 25, 2020, to allow those El Mirage residents that applied online or through the Hopeline to still pick up/drop off documents in El Mirage. Starting the week of November 30, CAP will resume its 8 a.m. to noon Wednesday schedule since the CARES Act funding will be expended.
CDBG-CV CARES Act: Rent and Utility Assistance funding for El Mirage residents is still available through the CDBG-CV Cares Act administered by Maricopa County. https://www.maricopa.gov/5620/Take-Care
