Rent & Utility Assistance Available

CARES Act Funding

The El Mirage/Surprise Community Action Program (CAP) Office has received a significant amount of federal CARES Act funding to help individuals with rent and utilities who have been impacted by the pandemic. Due to the pandemic, eligibility has expanded to serve individuals and families with higher incomes, up to 300% poverty level. (Example - family of 4 is eligible if their gross monthly income is $6,550 or lower). Bilingual staff are ready to help. Individuals can apply online at or call the HOPE line at 623-222-HOPE (4673). Walk-ins are being accepted at the El Mirage Senior Center during staffed hours from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Monday through Wednesday. Proper social distancing will be followed and masks are required.
