[El Mirage, AZ January 28, 2019] - The City of El Mirage will host Community Appreciation Day on Saturday, March 2, 2019, from 10:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. at Bill Gentry Park, 14010 North El Mirage Road. Prior to this event from 8:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m. the City has organized a Volunteer event to help keep El Mirage beautiful!
Community minded citizens and groups may volunteer to do some volunteer work prior to the event with check in at the El Mirage Senior Center from 7:00 a.m. – 7:30 a.m. Then volunteers will be sent to specific areas of the City from 8:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m. Those that participate will earn a voucher good towards $5.00 worth of food and refreshments at any food truck at the event. Volunteers will be given gloves and trash bags and may register your group and stay together during the volunteer work. Volunteer duties are not strenuous and are applicable for children and adults. Come on! Show your community pride by taking part in this worthwhile activity! Many thanks to Robert’s Car Care of Youngtown for sponsoring the lunches! Volunteers must register prior to the event no later than February 22, 2019, and sign a volunteer waiver. Activities will include a giant free kid’s zone featuring bouncy houses, face painting, helping to color our giant mural, inflatables, free pony rides, music, and over 30 local vendors selling homemade and other items. A variety of food trucks will also be on site. Admission, parking, and all attractions are FREE to the public.
