Traffic Restrictions

For the week of April 20-26th:

  • Intermittent lane closures may be encountered along Thunderbird Road and El Mirage Road to allow for the punch list items.
  • El Mirage Road - Northern Avenue to Cinnabar Avenue - Maricopa County is working on El Mirage Road south of Peoria Avenue.  Intermittent closures may be encountered.  Driveways may be affected as the proposed water main is installed and subgrade is prepared for paving.  Questions or concerns on this project can be directed to 480-299-8689.
  • Olive Avenue will experience lane restrictions and shifting between Dysart Road and the Agua Fria Bridge. Portions of Olive Avenue will only allow one lane in each direction and traffic will be split at the intersection with El Mirage Road.  Delays during peak hours are expected.  The current traffic control setup will remain in place through May 4th.
  • Olive Avenue, between Dysart Road and El Mirage Road and between El Mirage Road and the Burger King entrance, will be closed on Saturday, April 21st from 6 am to 6 pm to finalize the pavement section.  Detours will be in place via Dysart Road, Peoria Avenue, Northern Avenue and 107th Avenue.  El Mirage Road will experience shifting from the east side to the west side during the day but will remain open.  Burger King will also remain open during this time.
  • From April 23rd to April 30th, traffic on El Mirage Road, between Peoria Avenue and Northern Avenue, will be split on either side of the median.  Vehicles will be shifted between the inside and outside lanes to allow for the placement of the rubber surface course.
  • Lane restrictions will be encountered on both Olive Avenue and El Mirage Road until this project is completed in June 2018.
  • From April 23rd to May 4th, Southwest Gas will be working along the north side of Northern Avenue for a 1/2 mile west of El Mirage Road in order to relocate a gas main.  The shoulder and the Forterra deceleration lane will be affected.

Drivers are encouraged to use Greenway Road, Dysart Road, and Northern Avenue as the preferred route to avoid construction-related delays.
